 Нитсдейл и Морей. Рэндольфы или Рандольфы - древний шотландский род гаэльского происхождения, ныне угасший. Родоначальником Рэндольфов был Дугал из Нитсдейла или Стратнита (Dougal or Dunegal of Nithsdale / Strathnith; уп. 1124) - местный вождь, владевший землями в долине реки Нит между Гэллоуэем и Аннандейлом на юго-западе Шотландии, включавшими баронства Данскор, Тибберс, Мортон, Санкуар и Камнок с основной резиденцией в замке Мортон (Morton Castle). У Дугала из Нитсдейла было, как миниму, три сына, старший из которых - Ранульф или Рэндульф (Ranulf, or Randulf; ?-ок.1165).

Сэр Томас Рэндольф (?-1332), правнук Ранульфа, шотландский военачальник и дипломат, участник Первой войны за независимость Шотландии (в числе прочего битвы при Баннокберне и военной кампании в Ирландии), родственник и один из ближайших соратников Брюса, в 1312 году удостоился титула графа Морей вместе с крупными владениями на севере Шотландии, ранее конфискованными у Коминов; позднее был Регентом королевства в первые годы малолетства короля Давида II.

Род Рэндольфов пресекся со смертью сыновей сэра Томаса, погибших в ходе Второй войны за независимость: Томас Рэндольф, 2-ой граф Морей - в сражении при Дапплин Муре (1332), и Джон Рэндольф, 3-ий граф Морей - в сражении при Невиллс Кроссе (1346). Титулы и огромные владения Рэндольфов на юге и севере королевства перешли по наследству к Данбарам (Данбары, графы Морей; 1372-1430) и затем Черным Дугласам (конфискованы в 1455 году).

 Считается септом клана Брюс.
